uTorrent has Protocol Encryption!
uTorrent offers full support for Protocol Encryption. Unfortunately this option is not enabled from the get go, you will have to enable that manually. What Protocol Encryption offers is to bypass your ISP’s throttling or blocking of traffic of torrents.
There are four different options that come with Protocol Encryption; disabled, enabled, force, and allow legacy incoming connections. The first two are self explanatory, they either enable or disable the encryption. Force will attempt to encrypt the outgoing connections but will not do unencrypted connections so it will be ‘forced’ to keep an encryption or won’t work. Allow legacy incoming connections will enable or disable the incoming legacy (non-encrypted) connections. Generally enabled would be the choice you would like.
uTorrent supports plugins!
uTorrent has an experimental plugin system that is new and obviously an experiment only right now. So far there is only two plugins availible which one is for secure web access and one is for live streaming. Please remember these are still an experiment and might have a lot of bugs.
uTorrent supports a web interface!
To enable the web peice you have to download and install the the zip file containing the web files for uTorrent Download. There is further documentation on the uTorrent site for setting up this option.
uTorrent supports Universal Plug’n'Play!
uTorrent will forward whatever ports you need open on your router if your router is also offers UPnP support. If it does not, you are still able to manually enter in the ports you need open for your downloading pleasure with uTorrent free download.
Support for RSS feeds!
uTorrent is capable of viewing and downloading from RSS feeds. It is super easy to enable this feature on uTorrent download. Be sure to get your favorite shows downloaded as soon as they are availible.
uTorrent has a boss/hiding key!
There is a ‘boss’ key that will hide and unhide the uTorrent client window and the system tray icon when you press the assigned hotkey on uTorrent Download.
